Summer Sports Notice – Term 4 2022
Touch Rugby and Futsal

TOUCH RUGBY
Dates - the touch season starts on Tuesday 18th October with the last game on Tuesday 13th December. Touch is played on Tuesday afternoons at Whitestone Contracting Stadium.
Times - games are played at 3.45 pm, 4.15 pm, 4.45 pm and 5.15 pm
Grades - this term, North Otago Touch is trialliing new grades as per feedback from the touch community. Grades will be made up of two year levels instead of three as in previous years. The grades will be as follows:
Years 1 & 2
Years 3 & 4
Years 5 & 6
Years 7 & 8 girls
Years 7 & 8 boys
Years 7 & 8 mixed
Teams - players who registered in term 1 will be placed in the grade applicable to them. If your child played in term 1, please confirm if he/she wishes to carry on playing or does not want to play this term before Tuesday 13th September. New players are welcome to join a team and to let Mrs Brien know.
Coaches - please confirm if you wish to coach your child’s team for term 4
Fees - the cost for the whole year is $20 per person. If you want to join a team for term 4, the fees will be $10.00. If you have outstanding touch fees from term 1, please ensure they are paid before the competition starts in term 4.
Uniform - players to wear their PE uniform and sports shoes.
Cancellation – if games are cancelled due to weather, you will be notified either by email, Facebook or go to the North Otago Touch Rugby Facebook page.
Permission slips for new players - please fill in the permission slips and return them to Mrs Brien by Tuesday 13th of September.
Team Registrations - we need to send away our team registrations to North Otago Touch before Tuesday 20th September so they can sort the timetable out for the first week of term 4 therefore we need confirmation of all players by the 13th of September.

FUTSAL
Dates - the futsal season starts on Monday 31st October with the last game on Monday 5th December. Futsal is played on Monday afternoons at the Waitaki Recreation Centre or at St Kevin’s College gymnasium.
Times - the first game starts at 4.00 pm with the last game starting at 7.00 pm depending on the grade. All games are 12-minute halves with 1-minute halftime.
Fees - the cost of the fees will be $33.00 per person
Teams and Grades - these teams are mixed
Years 1-2 - play 4 x 4 half court (no goalkeepers) and 6 players minimum recommended per team.
Years 3-4 - play 4 x 4 half court (no goalkeepers) and 6 players minimum recommended per team.
Years 5-6 - play 5 v 5 (with goalkeeper) full court and 7 players minimum recommended per team.
Years 7-8 - play 5 v 5 (with goalkeepers) full court and 7 players minimum recommended per team.
Managers - no coaches needed. All you need is an adult to support the team and make the substitutions - they recommend the adult person to sub players every 3-4 minutes.
Draws/Fixtures - the draw will be in our school newsletter and on the Football South Website and on the Football Waitaki Facebook page.

COMMITMENT
When you sign up to play a team sport, you are committed to that team to play each week unless you let the coach know prior. When you do not turn up for your game or you arrive late, you are letting your team down so please ensure you arrive on time.
Once teams are finalised a team contact list will be emailed to each family to ensure everyone is contactable. If your child needs a ride to the grounds, please contact someone on your list.
PERMISSION SLIPS
All permission slips are due back by Tuesday 13th September. These can be returned either by email or hard copy.
