1. Principal's New Term 2, Week 6 2022

 Let Your Light Shine

We are now starting to see a glimmer of what our movie might look like.

Amongst other things this week we have started the draft filming of the drama sections of the movie.  I also got drone footage of Oamaru on the weekend, thanks to my son's friend Jan Kuepper.  We filmed "fire" poi early one morning at the Cape with Eli, Marc, Eva and Kaycee-Mae.  The classes are working hard on their dance sequences and we have done some excellent whole school singing for the soundtrack.  Here are some photos:

and introducing Rheanna who is the lead role

Catholic Interschool Quadrangular

Well done to our year 7 & 8s (and some year 6s) who played under St Kevin's banner at the Catholic school quadrangular yesterday in Dunedin.

Reporting to Parents
Please note our formal reporting to parents is now through Educa.  Please keep your eye out for notifications as this term we are reporting on Maths, Reading and the Performing Arts.  You will get a teacher comment and an indication of where your child is at in the curriculum as well as a work sample.  I will write a bit more about this next week.

Today I'm off to Wellington to represent the North Otago principals at a principal's meeting with the Ministry of Education and high on the agenda will be school attendance - I'm looking forward to the discussions today.  But it means I will need to write a bit more next week about our curriculum reporting this term.

Ma te Atua e manaaki a aroha,

(God bless, and love)
Lorraine
