Next Week's gospel presentation will be Ruma Kereru- Year 1/2. Thank you to the teachers for preparing our children every week for presenting the gospel at Mass. Thank you to all our school families and parishioners for your prayers and support to our school and our children. We are looking forward to seeing you all. You are welcome to join us in celebrating Mass.

Mass Facts

Last term we looked at Mass up until the end of the Liturgy of the Word. We continue explaining the Mass during Term 3. After the Scripture readings, the celebrant preaches the homily. In the homily, the priest focuses on the Scripture texts drawing from them lessons that may help us to live better lives, more faithful to Christ's call to grow in holiness.

Faith Facts Term 3 2021

Week 1 -26th – 30th July (Green).

26th  Sts Joachim and Anne-Jesus Grandparents

29th  St Martha

America was the first country in the world to celebrate Grandparents day. They celebrate on the 9th of September. The UK celebrates grandparents in October.  In New Zealand we do not celebrate grandparent's day. The Feast of Joachim and Anne, Jesus's grandparents, gives us a great opportunity to thank them for giving us Mary and a great day to think of our own grandparents too.

It is nice to think of Jesus as have a grandma (sava) and grandad (sav).

On Monday the Church celebrated Sts Joachim and Anne, the parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The couple's faith and perseverance brought them through the sorrow of childlessness, to the joy of conceiving and raising the immaculate and sinless woman who would give birth to Christ.

Malo 'Aupito

God Bless
