Young Vinnies
Our Year 7 & 8 students work with our Oamaru St Vincent de Paul Society as Young Vinnies.  This enables them to put our Catholic Social Justice principles into action in our community through visiting, participating and caring.

This week our year 7 & 8's are baking for our parish freezer.  The food will be frozen and given to any families who need a little pick-me-up.  We thank Adrienne Spillane who coordinates our Young Vinnies and St Vincent de Paul for supplying the raw ingredients and Rosemary Burke and Adele Whiston who came in to help alongside Adrienne and Michele Fatafehi.

Mandarin
The children continue to learn Mandarin every week and last week enjoyed sampling Rose, Jasmine and Chrysanthemum tea.

Mufti Day and Sausage Sizzle
We are preparing for the International Food Fair in September.  Usually, the Home and School has asked families for a $10 donation in order to buy the raw food for this event.  This year they decided to run a mufti day and sausage sizzle.  We raised $138 from the mufti day which was matched by the same amount by Fr Wayne, thank you to Fr Wayne, and we raised $228 from the sausage sizzle.  The total amount was $505.20 and this sets us up well for our international food fair.

Aroha and God Bless,
Lorraine
