1. Principal's News Term 3 Week 1 2020

Welcome to term 3 we have a jam-packed term ahead with science learning, cross country, singing cup, and DARE for year 7.

Reports
Reports will be coming home tomorrow.  For families in more than one home, the report will be posted.  This video explains how to read the reports to make the most meaning out of them.  It explains the New Zealand curriculum, how it links to our curriculum and how you can tell how well your child is doing:

The junior school students have been recording their learning on the Seesaw app.  This video shows how to use this app.    Parents of junior students will receive an invitation from Seesaw on Friday inviting them to download the app and access it.  Evidence of the children's learning is reported in visual digital format which should be read alongside the printed teacher comments in the reports.  A request can be made from Monday for a paper copy of the Seesaw evidence if need be.

Student - Parent - Teacher Interviews
These interviews are on Wednesday 29th July and Wednesday 5th August.

Please logon to the School Interviews website (https://www.schoolinterviews.co.nz/) and use this code to make your booking:  d7hf5

All families are expected to attend with students please.  The students will be sharing their work to show examples of what they are doing and the teacher will talk about next steps.

Our Head Girl
Sadly, the Alegre family are leaving us for Christchurch.  This means Marianne, our Head Girl will be leaving mid-term.  She has been an excellent girl, particularly noted for her communication with our community during lockdown.  She is a shining example of what we call a JJ (Just like Jesus) roll model and the sort of student we hope to turn out at St Joseph's.

We have consulted staff and students and are pleased to announce Hannah Fowler as the new Head Girl.  Hannah has proved herself with her stage presence, both through leading Jump Jam and speaking to our school and with the way she has efficiently organised things.  Jana Gulinao will step up into Hannah's present role as Guzman House Captain.

God Bless and Aroha
