Faith Facts
This week is Social Justice Week. The theme is ‘Weaving Bonds of Belonging - Knowing our Neighbours”.  Pope Francis when addressing poor communities in Central Africa (2015) said that these poor communities weave bonds of belonging and togetherness which convert [the experience of poverty] into an experience of community. We are called to do the same. Take a look at what social justice is all about at this link.

WHAT IS A CATHOLIC FEAST DAY?
The Catholic Church assigns one date out of the year for each and every canonized saint — known as the saint’s feast day. The saints are remembered on their individual feast days with special mention, prayers, and possibly a scripture reading.
The 15th of August is the feast of the Assumption of Mary. Mary is the Patron saint of Aotearoa New Zealand.
God Bless
