Rippa Rugby
The children who are interested in playing in the rippa rugby tournament on Friday 19th March have been given letters to take home with their permission slips due by Monday. At this stage we have had no offers of help to coach any of the teams so we will only send teams if we have coaches. Thanks to the parents who have offered to help with transport.
School Newsletter
A copy of the weekly school newsletter is always on the wall outside the office if you need to refer to anything.
Senior Swimming Sports
Due to Level 2 guidelines, we have had to postpone our senior swimming sports to Tuesday 9th March as we were unable to have spectators at the pool due to the 100 person limit.
If we move to Level 1 this weekend, the swimming sports will be on for everyone but if we stay at Level 2, the swimming sports will only be for the competitive swimmers. A notice will be sent home on Monday regarding this.
If you are available to help at our school sports at either Level, please let Paula Brien know asap. A copy of the swim programme is attached to the email.
This week we had our last swimming lessons and the instructors commented to us they were all very pleased at the progress the children had made in their swimming this term.
Winter Sports
Enrolments
This week the winter sports enrolment form was emailed to all families in regard to playing winter sports for St Joseph's. All replies need to be in by Monday 8th March and if you need a paper copy, there is one at the office.
Players Wanted
If you know of anyone who would like to play either netball or rugby for our school, please get them to contact Paula Brien at sport@stjoseph.school.nz We are able to accept players from outside of school for these codes because St Joseph's School is an independent sports club. Basketball and miniball are played under each school's name and not as a club.
Basketball
North Otago Basketball are asking for nominations/applications for coaches and managers for all age group representative teams. The ages for both the boys and girls teams are: U13, U15, U17 and U19. Nominations/applications should be forwarded to the North Otago Basketball Association at northotagobasketball@gmail.com on or before 12th March 2021 or for further information please either email or phone Susan on 027 222 2187.
