A HUGE thank you malo 'aupito to Tua Misiloi, Talanoa Palu and helpers for preparing our Pasifika Cultural group so well for their performances this week. Their dancing and costumes are stunning. We are very proud of the children especially with their performance at Little Wonders today. We are looking forward to seeing them perform at our assembly tomorrow.

Last year, we established a new leadership group of students with a focus on learning. There are two students from every class from Year 3-8 who meet and collaborate with me. Our goal is to improve learning for all students at St Joseph's. We want to truly give students a chance to 'drive the learning'.
Previously we have looked at engagement in learning at articulating our goal : To engage every student in deep learning for success
Yesterday we discussed what it means to have a 'growth mindset'.
I shared the video that I made based on my sabbatical report with them and a link to an Effective Effort rubrik that explained the difference between having a fixed and growth mindset. We thought about deep learning and wrote some excellent ideas about how this can happen at school and at home. I will share their ideas on a blog next week.
Take some time to read and reflect on the effective effort rubric and apply it to your own learning.
