Itinerant Sport Teachers
This week we are very lucky to have itinerant sport teachers come in and teach the children some skills for touch rugby, cricket and rippa rugby. It is a great way for the children to learn skills in sports they may not have the opportunity to play.  A very big thank you to Lee Woodhouse (qualified coach for Otago touch rugby), Isabella from North Otago Cricket and Jason Forrest from North Otago Rugby for coaching our children some new skills and games.  The rippa sessions will be held tomorrow.

Mufti Day for Tonga
Our school raised $207.20 for the Tongan volcanic appeal and Caritas would like to thank everyone for their efforts which is much appreciated.

Reminders
Friday 4th - rippa rugby sessions at school
Monday 7th - winter sports forms due back

Rural Families
North Otago Pastoral Services is very excited to announce its next campaign in supporting the Network Waitaki Events Centre Development. The planned multi-purpose 6 court stadium will open up many new opportunities for attracting people to our region, offering better facilities and a venue to accommodate larger tournaments for the likes of netball, basketball, futsal, volleyball and more. A donation will be made towards the Events Centre Development with any purchase of their featured products. A flyer is attached to the email.

Walk n Wheel Week
This is starting on Monday and information regarding this week is shown further on the blog.  There is a mufti day on Wednesday where the children are to wear bright and wacky clothes.  This could be bright shoes, bright socks, bright hair or bright clothes. No money is required.

Welcome
We warmly welcome Clare L to our junior school this week.

Winter Sports
Yesterday our winter sports forms were handed out to each family.  If you wish for your child to play a winter sport for our school, please return the permission slips by next Monday 7th March.

Each sports association has rules and regulations about playing sport safely in Covid Level Red and these will be explained in more detail once teams are established and the start dates draw near.
