Thank you to our year 8's for organising this day. We raised for $351 for Give a Little.
Holy Week
We will be celebrating Holy Week a week early next week. Mass on Thursday will be Palm Sunday, presented by the junior school. The year 4/5s will do the washing of the feet at 10am on Good Friday. The year 8s will lead stations of the cross outside at the end of the day on Friday. We will do two sessions, one at 2pm for the junior school and one at 2.30pm for the seniors and parents are welcome to join in this session. We will be leaving the session in silence.
There will be no celebration assembly next Friday 12 April.
Board Elections
NZSTA is running a workshop for anyone who would like to know more about being a Board of Trustees member at Brydone Hotel on Monday the 8th. It is free. Just turn up and preferably Email Ishelley@nzsta.org.nz
Call for nominations will be by Friday 10th May and elections close at noon on Wednesday 7 June.
Uniforms
We have ordered our new polar fleeces, they are thicker and a wider shape and should be stocked in the Warehouse by early next term. Culottes/skorts will also be available in the Warehouse and can be worn as an alternative to pinafores for girls.
Aquavan
We enjoyed visiting the Aquavan this week where we are learning about the environment of our coastline. The Aquavan teachers have visited a lot of schools and gave some very good feedback about our children. They said - they were impressed with the caliber of the students and their learning, their questioning and their level of engagement in processing the information they were given. Well done to our children and teachers.
Whitestone Wipeout
Once again a fantastically well organised event by our Home and School.
Caritas Mufti Day
We will be having a mufti day on the last Friday of term to raise money for Caritas for South Sudan. The children have been learning about the plight of people in South Sudan during Lent. The theme for Lent 2019 is inspired by a quote from Pope Francis: 'Living our lives with love.' We are called to live our lives with genuine love - for others and for God.
God Bless and Aroha
