Faith Facts
On Friday 15th September it is the memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows. This feast dates back to the 12th century. The title "Our Lady of Sorrows" focuses on the sorrows of Mary's life from “Bethlehem to Calvary”, most especially “her intense suffering during the passion and death of Christ.” (Saint John Paul II). Because of this Mary knows our sorrows and our pains too. We honour our Blessed Mother Mary, as a faithful disciple and exemplar of faith.
Social Justice Week 2017 will run from 10-16 September this year
and we
invite our Catholic school communities to take up Pope Francis’ challenge to
‘weave bonds of belonging’ within our schools, our whānau, and within the wider
communities to which our schools belong.
God Bless
