Enrolment Meetings
There are enrolments meetings for children who are turning 5 or for people who want their children to come to St Joseph's next year.  The meetings will be held in October.  Please contact the office for further information.  This does not apply to the parents if you have already attended an enrolment meeting for next year.

Home & School
Thank you very much to the families who have donated their $10 towards the annual food fair. If you have not yet donated your money, please do so asap as the Home & School can then calculate how much ingredients they need to buy for the fair.  The Cake Wheel still needs another 28 names beside it so put your baking skills into action and make a cake/slice for a good cause.

Miniball / Basketball
Great results from the miniball and basketball teams this week.  Our Breakers and Rebels teams got third in the competition with Jada-Rose Keno receiving the Most Improved Overall  Trophy for girls in the North Otago miniball competition and the Breakers team receiving the Skills & Teamwork trophy overall.
In the basketball, the Bolts basketball team got runners up in the girls section and the Raptors team got third.  Well done to everyone involved and special thanks to the coaches and managers of these teams.

North Otago Cross Country
Congratulations to our 28 runners who competed at the North Otago Cross Country on Monday held at the Oamaru Racecourse.  The track was hard and fast and ideal for running cross country.  Well done to our students who all finished the race and the ones that got into top ten placings, especially Michael Woodhouse getting 2nd in the Yr 5 boys, Jacob Robinson getting 3rd in the Yr 6 boys and Sebastian Spillane getting 4th in the Yr 7 boys.  These boys are competing at the Otago Primary Schools cross country event tomorrow and we wish them good luck. Thanks to our marshals Adrienne Spillane and Adele Whiston for their help on the day.

Otago Primary School's Netball Tournament
On Tuesday we entered a Yr 6 mixed netball team in this tournament held at the Edgar Centre in Dunedin.  They competed in a field of 30 teams and got 22nd.  Our team was one of a handful of teams to have mixed boys and girls so they did really well.  Thank you very much to our parents Anna Beveridge and Rebecca Heffernan who were the drivers, coach and umpire for this team and to the students who were commended on their good behaviour.  Today we have two Yr 7/8 teams competing at this tournament, results will be in next week's blog.
