Filipino Lessons

Home & School Raffle
A reminder that the Home & School Raffle is due back by this Monday 15th August sold or unsold.  If you are able to sell more raffle tickets, please let the office know or call into Mathers Jewellery. Thank you to the families who have already returned their sold raffle cards. They are still looking for volunteers to help sell raffle tickets at Countdown next Tuesday and Wednesday. You can work in pairs or even volunteer half an hour in your lunch break to help.  We have the same families volunteering and would love to see some new faces.  Please let the office know or Suzanne Mather on 027 232 4115 if you can help out in any way.  Time frames available are:
Tuesday 16th August - 11.00 - 12.00 pm, 12.00 - 1.00 pm, 1.00 - 2.00 pm or later if you wish

Cross Country for Junior Hub 1
This will be held at school tomorrow starting at 2.00 pm and will be organised by the Yr 8 students.  Parents are most welcome to come and watch.

Kids for Kids Concert 2016
Our school choir will be participating in the 'Kids for Kids' concert on Wednesday 31st August at 7.30 pm at the Oamaru Opera House.  Tickets cost $22.50 for an adult and $18.00 for a student/child and are available from Ticket Direct on www.ticketdirect.co.nz or phone 433 0770.


Mini Olympics
Next Thursday, our Yr 8 students are organising a mini olympics for the whole school from 12.45 to 2.45 pm where each child will be put in a country and they come dressed to school in that colour. Please bring a gold coin donation which is going towards the New Zealand Para-Olympic team. More information will come out next week.

Special Character Blog
There is no Special Character blog this week due to Mrs Dooley being away on holiday.

Snow
Last Friday, our senior students were excited to see snow falling in Oamaru and rushed outside to experience the wet snow.
