Lost Clothing
Tannah Rintoul is still missing her named school jacket.  Please check your child's jacket to see if they have the correct one.

Home & School
The Entertainment Books are due back now.  Please return your book sold or unsold by tomorrow Friday 15th May or someone from the Home & School committee will ring and contact you.  Thank you to the families who have bought books or returned them already.

Practise your English
Adults - do you want a chance to practise speaking English?  Come along every Wednesday morning from 9.00 to 10.00 am.  Jenny Jackson and Liza Gutierez will meet with you for a cup of coffee and time to talk to help improve your English.  Please let Jenny know if you are interested by emailing Jenny on jjackson@stjoseph.school.nz

Lions Club Speech Competitions
The junior speech contest is open for anyone from Yrs 5,6,7 and 8  and will be held on Sunday 21st June at Fenwick school hall starting at 10.00 am.  The contest is finished by 12.00 pm.  If anyone is interested in participating in the speech competitions, please pick up the entry forms from the school office.  Entries close Monday 15th June.

FIFA U20 World Cup
There is 2 games on Sunday 31st May between Mexico & Mali and Uruguay and Serbia in Dunedin.  Tickets cost $10 for students and $20 for adults who play football for a club in the Waitaki region. There is a free bus there and back from Oamaru.  Tickets can now be ordered from your school office and collected prior to the match-days.  Buses will pick up and drop off from the school gates.

Community Notices
  • Kids Cross Country Series - held in Dunedin on Sunday 17th May, 14th June, 26th July and 16th August for Year 1-8 students.  The cross country series in partnership with Athletics Otago will run these races.  For further information and registration, enter online on the Athletics Otago website www.athleticsotago.co.nz by clicking on events and then Kids Cross Country Series.  Cost is $7.50 per race.
  • Operation Christmas Child - Phillip Haussman, the South Island coordinator will be in Oamaru on Tuesday 19th May at 1.30 pm at St Patricks Parish Lounge, Reed St, Oamaru.  Learn more about the impact your gift is making for the children of our world and what you can do to further work of love.
  • Spice Up Your Life Seminar - held on Wednesday 20th May from 11.00 am to 12.30 pm at the Aoraki Polytechnic Oamaru Campus.  No charge.  The power of personal branding to earn you instant distinction, recognition and success in your career and in life.
  • Fire and Steam 2015 - Friday 29th May from 6.30 to 9.00 pm at Harbour St, Oamaru.  $5.00 entry.  There will be music and dance, street performers, food stalls, fire etc.  This night coincides with the Steampunk NZ Festival weekend.
  • Musical Theatre Oamaru Addams Family Auditions - are looking for a 10 - 13 year old boy to play the part of 12 year old Pugsley Addams for their production in September.  They would like a boy whose voice is not changed with a strong singing ability.  The part also requires Pugsley to be a good comedic actor who can move well.  There are 2 pre-audition evenings where you can find out further information on Thursday 14th May or Tuesday 19th May at 7.30 at the Musical Theatre rooms at 17 Itchen Street.
