Athletics
Due to Covid restrictions again, we are unable to hold our combined school athletics with Te Pakihi O Maru (Oamaru North) School at Whitestone Contracting Stadium.  This year we are holding our own athletics here at school with the senior athletics (8 to 13 years old) on Friday 12th November and the junior athletics date is still to be confirmed.

The senior athletics will go from 9.30 am to approximately 2.00 - 2.30 pm in the afternoon and we require helpers to help with measuring and helping at the different rotations. Please let us know if you can help. We require approximately 10 people to help us on the day.

Book Fair
"Journey back to ancient Egypt. The Scholastic Book Fair starts next Tuesday, and it’s going to be A Cool Place to Discover Hot Books! You’ll be taken back to an oasis overflowing with a treasure of fun and filled with the latest books for your next reading adventure. This exciting celebration of reading will take place in the Steam Room and will run from 26th - 28th of October.
See you there!

The Book Fair starts on Tuesday 26th and finishes on Thursday 28th October.  Parents are welcome to come and purchase books from 3.00 to 3.30 on these days.  They must wear a mask, sign in and keep a 2 metre distance. Eftpos is available.

Book Character Dress
This will be held on Tuesday 26th February and children are to dress up as their favourite book character whether it is fiction or non-fiction.  Please do not go out and buy anything, just use something from home.  Children who are not dressed as book characters must come to school in their full summer uniform which does not include PE GEAR.

This is the same day as the senior athletics practice in the afternoon and children MUST bring their PE gear to school including sport shoes.

Summer Sports
Touch Rugby
As mentioned earlier in the week, the structure of the touch rugby competition has changed due to current covid regulations and only half the teams will play each week.  Each team will play on a field in which you have to enter the grounds from the appropriate entrance.  This will be put on the draw each week.  Children are not allowed to stay and watch other teams.  Please keep an eye out on the draw for your team's game times.

Futsal
This competition starts on Monday 1st November and further information will be forwarded on to the teams once we receive it.  We are still looking for managers for these teams which basically involves subbing the children on and off the court.  The rules are very few and very easy to learn.  Please let Mrs Brien know if you can help.

Winter Sports Uniforms and Gear Bags
A reminder to return all winter sports uniforms and gear bags by next Tuesday for stocktake.
