2. Faith Facts - Week 1, Term 3 2023

Welcome to  Week 1 Term 3

Thank you Ruma Kereru for leading the Mass this week! A great way to start the term.

Our In-school Confirmation lessons have begun this week and I ask you to pray for our candidates and their families as they prepare for this Sacrament.

A reminder that there is a parent meeting with Father Fredy on Tuesday evening 25th July at 7pm in the school staffroom for parents of the Sacramental candidates.

St Mary Magdalene

Lord, please bless all our teachers, friends and whanau as they make their way back to their classrooms for another term. Help them to feel excitement and joy in the promise of a new start.  Help to keep our schools and homes warm. Give them everything they need to start their classes. Help us to support those who are hungry and cold. Give them and us all we need this winter. Amen.

Mary Magdalene travelled with Jesus as one of his followers. She is mentioned by name more than most of the apostles and more than any other woman in the gospels, other than Jesus's family.

All the gospels say she is, either alone or a member of a larger group of women which includes Jesus's mother, as the first to witness the empty tomb, and is the first to witness Jesus's resurrection. Mary Magdalene is known in some Christian traditions as the "apostle to the apostles".
