Library
Books
This term we are trialling a new system where the children are allowed to take home library books for the holidays on the proviso that they have no outstanding library books at home. If they have overdue library books, they will not be allowed to take them home in future.

Pot Plants
St Joseph's is an enviroschool and we would love to brighten up our library with some greenery.  If anyone has some pot plants/indoor plants that you have no use for, we would love to look after them in the library for you. Please drop them off at the office.

Otago Primary School's Cross Country
This year the Otago Cross Country is being held on Friday 30th August which is the week before the North Otago Cross Country event on Monday 2nd September.  If your child is interested in attending the Otago Cross Country please let Mrs Brien know.

Parent Student Conferences
School interviews will be held on Tuesday 30th July and Monday 4th August from 3.15 to 8.00 pm. Please book your time for you and your child by going to www.schoolinterviews.co.nz and entering the code rexwq otherwise notify the office and we can book a time for you.

Resource Recovery Centre Visit

The junior school are walking to the Resource Recovery Centre and the Community Gardens on the morning of Friday 26th July (week 1).  They will spend an hour at each place gathering information and sparking interest for their learning about Energy in term 3.
They require lots of parent helpers on their walk to enable this to happen.  Please mark your calendar and make yourself available to come and be with them.  They plan to leave school at 9.30 am and be back for lunch at 12.30 pm.  The postponement day is the following Friday 2nd August.  Please let your child's teacher know if you can help.  Many thanks Leanne Brookes.

School Polar Fleeces
We will let you know when the polar fleeces arrive at school.

St Mary's Interschool
Last Thursday our Yr 8 students travelled down to Mosgiel to compete in the annual inter-school against St Mary's. Their intermediate department comprises of 16 students who all played at least 2 games each against our own students.  All games were full length games and this year we had a tightly contested competition with some very close games with St Joseph's winning the rugby and the basketball and St Mary's winning the soccer and netball. Thank you to Mr Cameron for helping coach our teams.  A great day was had by all.

Welcome
We warmly welcome Angelina Pardede to our new entrants class.
