Junior Catholic Quadrangular Tournament
Yesterday we took 39 Yr 7 & 8 students down to Dunedin to compete in the annual Junior Catholic Quadrangular Tournament.  The tournament was for students from Yr 7 to Yr 10 from Invercargill, Gore and Dunedin. We went as part of St Kevin's intermediate section and played basketball, netball and Futsal. Every game played was counted for points which went towards an overall score and Verdon College from Invercargill won the trophy overall. St Kevin's tied for first place in the basketball which was helped with one of our boys team winning all 5 games and the other winning 3 games. The children were to be commended on their conduct during the tournament and represented our school and St Kevin's with pride.  Thanks to Mr Chikowore, Mrs Cameron, Ms Williams and Mrs Jones-Hogan for your time yesterday.

During Queen's Birthday weekend, the Pardede and McGeown families travelled to Invercargill to compete in the Tae Kwon Do South Island tournament.  Congratulations to William who got a gold and silver medal in the black tip grade and Warren who got two silver medals in the red tip grade.
The gradings go by yellow tip, then belt, green tip then belt, blue tip then belt, red tip then belt and last black tip and belt.  This was Emily's first tournament and she competed well against her competitors.  Well done everyone.
