Thinking about the season of Advent coming soon? No doubt you have seen the Advent Calendars for sale in the shops!! What about creating a Jesse Tree for your home!! Biblical persons associated with the gradual coming of the Messiah are represented on the Jesse Tree, named after the father of David. Read the Scripture and make your own tree at home, talking about these significant ancestors of Jesus as a family.

The Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Why the feast of Christ the King Sunday
In 1925 Pope Pius XI believed the world of his time needed to be reminded of the primacy and Lordship of Jesus Christ, and that the faithful needed to be inspired to go out into the world in Christ’s name, under his kingly banner. The pope hoped that this new feast would inspire the faithful. He also hoped that, in celebrating it, men and women would be reminded that it is to Christ we owe our fealty and that no earthly power can ever surpass that of his eternal kingship.

The Presentation of the
Blessed Virgin Mary
Tradition that says Mary was taken to the temple in Jerusalem
when she was 3-years-old and dedicated to God. What we celebrate on this day is
the fact that God chose to dwell in Mary in a very special way.
