Caregiver Contact List and Education Outside the Classroom Form
It is important that we receive the information on these forms, so we can update our records.  There is over 50 families who have not returned these forms so please complete them and hand them back to the school office immediately.

Dental Care (Community Oral Health Service)
Children from birth to the end of Year 8 are entitled to free basic dental care at the Community Oral Health fixed clinic at Torridge Street, Oamaru.  The service is run by appointment only.  We would like parents/guardians to attend all appointments with their child as Dental Therapists provide parents with valuable advice to support their children's good oral health.  If your child is already enrolled with the Service, they will contact you to make an appointment.  If your child is not enrolled, you are unsure or new to the area, please call Otago on 0800 672 543

Home & School News
Disco - On Friday 26th May, the Home and School are organising a Wacky Hair Disco to be held in the school hall.  Yrs 1-4 is from 6.00 to 7.30 and Yrs 5-8 from 7.00 to 8.30 pm.  It costs $3.00 which includes entry, drink and glow stick.  We need parents to help with this night.  Please contact Megan Phillips on 027 437 1479 if you can help out in any way.

Pies and Milo - The Home & School would like to offer Milo on a Wednesday lunchtime starting Wednesday 10th May during the winter.  On this day, children are invited to bring a pie or similar to put in the pie warmer.  Food needs to be wrapped in foil or in a pie package and have your child's name written on it.  Please put your named pies in the box outside the office.   Milo costs 50 cents (correct change please) and children need to bring their own non-breakable mug.  This is to be handed to the parent help in the hall when you get your milo at lunch time.

Junior Swimming Lessons for Yrs 1-3
Our swimming lesson dates are all in June and the days are Monday 12th, Tuesday 13th, Wednesday 14th, Monday 19th, Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd.  We want the children to get the maximum benefit of their swimming instruction time and have instruction tailored to their needs.  So we have opted to limit our junior swimming to 6 high quality instruction sessions.  All the children would benefit further from follow up time at the pool with their families to give them a chance to practice new skills.

School Ties
This is a care instruction of washing our school ties which may have been missed with the issue of new ties.  Please do not machine wash.  Ties are made on a bias so will not tolerate machine washing.  If washed this way, guarantee will be void.  The fabric is a very close weave so a gentle sponge with a clean wet cloth is usually all that is needed.  Fore more difficult stains, a mild cleaning agent on a wet cloth with remove most marks.  Dry in a warm position (never tumble dry)
