Policies and Procedures
Over the last couple of years there have been significant legislative changes particularly the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and the Vulnerable Children's Act 2014. This has put more pressure on schools to read, train and comply with legislation. Last year our Board of Trustees decided to move our policies to the Schooldocs systems. This means our policies are tailored to St Joseph's School but jointly managed with the Schooldocs system. The benefit is it keeps our policies up to date with legislative changes, and enables our community to easily see and consult on our policies.
There is a link on the main school website that you can access at any time to look at our policies and procedures:
The community login for the site is at schooldocs.co.nz. To login, click the link and enter the following details when prompted:
username: stjosephsoamaru
password: veritas
At the moment we are reviewing three policies and parent feedback is asked for one - our "Cultural Diversity" policy.
Your feedback is important.
To enter your comments for a review go to the "Current Review" tab and the policies up for renewal will come up. Choose a policy, read it and click on the red box in the top right hand corner to review the policy. Your comments will be collated by Schooldocs along with board and staff comments and used to upgrade our policies.
Interim Board elections are currently underway. Please read your voting papers and consider the candidates. The work the Board of Trustees does is vital to the smooth running of our school and provides the support to the principal and staff to continue our work. Take this opportunity to use your vote. Forms can be posted or dropped into the box in the office.
