1. Principal's News Week 3 Term 3

Parent meetings for the Sacramental Programme
On Monday night, I was fortunate to be able to spend some time at one of the parent preparation meetings. These meetings are being very ably led by parishioners - Adrienne and Mark Wylie. Adrienne is also a Bishop's Representative on our school Board of Trustees. The meetings are for families with children getting ready to receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist (First Communion) on Sunday August 16th. I wish to commend Adrienne, Mark, Fr Wayne and all of the parents and parish prayer partners ( you can learn more about them on Mrs Dooley's Special Character post below) who are all doing a wonderful job to support our children during this special time.

Student Blogger of the Week
This week's student blogger is Ash McFarlane. You can read Ash's thoughtful reflections on the meaning of the sacraments and Paul the apostle. You can also learn about Ash's likes and his future plans as well as read about his ski trip experiences and his term 2 highlights.
Here is the link to Ash's blog.

Mr Cartlidge and Miss Huls's blogs
As well as our class blogs, some of our staff have recently created their own blogs to reflect and share their own learning. Mr Cartlidge is sharing his learning from his studies through NZ Mindlab. You can learn more on this link. Miss Huls is reflecting on her teaching and leadership studies on this link.
Enrolments for 2016
Just a reminder to any of our families and friends with siblings that turn 5 in 2016, our enrolment days are next Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th August. Please contact our office to make an appointment time with Fr Wayne and I. Senior Hub 2 student prize draw
At the end of last term we held a competition to promote the school values in a creative way.
Congratulations to Siva who came first with her resilience poster. Seth came second with his respect poster.
Maddison, Laura and Niveek came third with their resilience video.

Wacky Hair Day
Next Friday 14th August will be a Wacky Hair Day. Children will need to come to school in their school uniform and choose to be extra creative with their hair. They will need to bring a gold coin donation to go towards our fund to replace the basketball hoop that broke last term.

Family Learning Hui (FLH)
Next Thursday at 6pm we have our next FLH. This is a family time to come together with staff and friends and share our learning in a relaxed and informative learning environment. As a result of the progress made with student lead learning at our hui last term we will continue to get the students to lead this event. You can read about our last hui on this link.
Students sharing learning at our FLH last term.
Our junior hub children will share their Kapahaka learning with you during the FLH. There will also be students from other hubs sharing some of their learning with us. So bring along your take away food if you wish to have something to eat at the start of the evening and join us at 6pm in the hall on Thursday 13th August. Come along and learn how to support your children as we Reach for the Stars as Lifelong Learners in the Catholic Faith.
