1. Principal's News - Week 3, Term 3 2023

Dear Parents and Whanau

We are very pleased to let you know that we have advertised the permanent principal's position.  This has been digitally posted and placed in print in the Education Gazette.  The closing date is the 18th of August.  It has already created some interest and inquiry.

We hope to interview very early next term and have a replacement permanent principal in place for the beginning of the 2024 year.

We would value your input with a few focused questions.  This would help us find the right fit for St Joseph's and add your perspective when searching for the ideal fit for our school.  The questionnaire will take less than five minutes.

Parents/whānau:  please click the below link to answer the questionnaire.

Refurbishment
The Catholic Education Office has now accepted all three quotations for the refurbishment of the library and Steam rooms.  We now need to coordinate the builders, painters and carpet layers for this to happen later in the term.

Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences
We are holding three-way interviews (pupil/parent/teacher) on Tuesday 15th August commencing at 1.00 pm.  School will close at 12.30 pm so please make arrangements to collect your children at this time.

The interviews will be held in the child's classroom and will be 10 minutes long with a 5-minute window of change to allow families to move from one classroom to another.  A bell will be rung at the start of each interview.  We have an expectation that you attend these interviews along with your child.

Bookings can be made via the school interviews app which is schoolinterviews.co.nz and the code is c5ruy

Chocolate Fundraiser
Our fundraiser has been going really well and we thank you for all your hard work selling the chocolates.  Please remember that your money is due by Friday 11th August.

If you are having any trouble selling your chocolates, please bring them back to the office as soon as possible as there are some families who wish to sell more.

God Bless
Allan Mitchell
Acting Principal
