Book Fair
Our book fair starts on Tuesday 20th September to Friday 23rd September in the STEAM room (opposite the hall) from 3.00 to 3.30 pm.  We are looking for a couple of volunteers to help at the book fair and if you can help, please let Miss Sollano know. Email address is ssollano@stjoseph.school.nz
The book fair sells books, posters, pencils, rubbers, pencil cases and other stationery items.  These can be paid by cash, Eftpos or online.

Send your child to school dressed as their favourite book character. 

 


Chewing Gum
It has been noticed, that a lot of our students are chewing gum at school.  Please ensure they do not bring it to school.

Chocolate Fundraiser
We hope your chocolate sales are going well and if you have any questions about it, please contact the office.  Happy selling :)

House Football Competition
Next Friday, September 23, from 11.20 am, our House Captains will be running a school-wide Football tournament where each house will compete for house points.  Students from years 1-6 are to wear their PE uniform and sports shoes and students in years 7 & 8 are to wear their school uniform as they are going to technology in the morning but bring their PE uniform to school. The ones playing can wear shin guards if you have them. Students may bring along props matching the colour of their House i.e tutus, glasses and hats etc.
Parents are invited to come along to the tournament and we would appreciate some help with refereeing games. Please email your child's teacher or let the office know if you can help.

North Otago Cross Country
We are very proud of our 16 children who represented our school at the North Otago Cross Country last Monday afternoon in freezing cold conditions.  They gave it their all as they tested themselves against the best in North Otago.  Congratulations to the following children who finished in the top 10:
  • yr 6 boys - James L 4th
  • yr 4 girls - Emily M 7th
  • yr 4 boys - Alexander R 10th

St Patrick's Parish Reflection Day
Fr John O'Connor will facilitate our consideration of how, as a church, we must rise to the challenge of the modern world.  It will be held on Saturday 24th September from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm at St Joseph's school hall.  Tickets cost $10.00 per person which includes morning tea at 9.30 am and lunch.

Summer Sports
Futsal and Touch rugby team lists are on another page in the blog. For children who played touch rugby in term 1 and have not returned their permission slips, please let Mrs Brien know if your child is still playing. We are short of numbers in our Futsal teams, if your child wishes to play, please contact the office.

    SKC is delighted to announce that we will be hosting ex-student and Silver Ferns dynamo defender Jane Watson for "Tea With Jane' in our College gym on Tuesday 27th Sep, 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm.

    Tickets are available at the school office for $25.00 for adults and $5 for students.  Proceeds to go to our gym refurbishment.  Come along for finger food frivolity and fun as we hear from Jane about her life in the world of professional netball.
