If your child is away from school for any reason, you must let the school know either by phoning 434 8856, 027 434 8860 or email office@stjoseph.school.nz  If they are sick and you have notified the school on day one, you must let the school know each day.

North Otago Music Festival - Last Minute Information
The music festival is nearly here!!  Everything is organised and we are sounding great.  Just a few details you should know and be aware of:

Tuesday Morning Practice
All choir members need to be at school by 8.30 am as we need to do the roll and walk down to the Opera House to start at 9.00 am sharp.  Please ensure your child has morning tea and a water bottle to take down to the Opera House.

Tuesday Night Performance
Children will need to be dropped off between 6.30 - 6.45 pm outside the Opera House.  The Opera House doors will not be open before 6.30 pm so if you drop your child off earlier, they will be waiting in the cold.

Uniform - your child needs to be in a clean St Joseph's Winter Dress Uniform.  No singlets or thermals underneath the shirts as it gets very hot on stage. Everyone is to wear a TIE and have clean black shoes.  All children to have a clean face and their hair must be done.  Long hair is to be off the face.  All students with tied hair will be issued with a burgundy coloured ribbon for wearing.
Girls to wear a Kilt/tunic with navy socks/tights and boys to wear a blue shirt for Yr 7/8 or a grey shirt for Yr 5/6 and grey winter shorts with knee-high grey woollen socks.

Your child will be shown where to come into the Opera House on Tuesday - down the side entrance next to the Oamaru Court House.  They MUST leave their jackets, polar fleeces, hats and scarves at the door with you.  Please check your children's pockets are empty of anything unnecessary e.g. fidget toys.  This ensures that we don't have lots of spare things at the end and there will be a teacher at the door to monitor this.

Finishing time - if you are not going to the show, it will be finished at about 8.40 pm.  Please meet your child at the side entrance closest to Countdown.  They will enter backstage via the side entrance closest to the Oamaru Court house on Thames Street and exit on the opposite side closest to Severn Street.
If you are going to the show, you will be asked to leave the auditorium first, and then we will let the children go.  Please make your way to the Severn Street entrance and we will see you there.

If you are unable to drop your child off at the Opera House or pick your child up at 8.40 pm, please let me know so we can organise transport for your child.

Before heading to the show, please make sure your child has gone to the toilet.  No lollies or sugary food beforehand as they will already be hyperactive with excitement.

If your child is sick or is now not going to the show, please let me know.  It is difficult to organise things if we don't know this information.  My cell phone number is 021 161 5052.

Thank you for your support and help in getting your child/ren ready for this performance.  If you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me at my email address at lbrookes@stjoseph.school.nz

Thank you
Leanne Brookes
