Home and School
The Home and School raise money for our school for the extra things that the school budget does not allow for.  The two major fundraisers for this year are the Hungry Horse Cafe and our Food Fair.

Hungry Horse Cafe
There are approximately 8-9 horse race meetings throughout the year and we would like all families to do at least one session at the cafe during the year which could be food preparation, dishes, clearing tables etc.  Each session is between 2-3 hours and no experience is needed, just a willingness to give some time for the school.  This is also a great way to meet other families in the school.  Volunteers can be mums/dads/grandparents/family friends or high school siblings.

The first race meeting for the 2021/2022 year is on Sunday 15th August and they urgently need volunteers for these roster shifts:
10.00 am to 12.00 pm
12.00 to 3.00 pm
3.00 to 5.30 pm

Please contact Rebecca Heffernan on 027 432 4056 or email heffholdings@xtra.co.nz asap to be put on the roster or contact the school office.

Food Fair - Sunday 26th September
Our annual school food fair is a way of celebrating the many cultures we have in our community and this year it is on Sunday 26th September in our school grounds.  Gates open from 11.00 am and food is available from 11.30 am.  Cost is $5.00 per plate and eftpos is available.
Our fair will be selling food from these countries: - American, Chinese, Dutch, Filipino, Indian, Kiwi BBQ, Mexican, Pasifika and Zimbabwean.  There will also be a coffee van, ice cream truck, face painting and a cake wheel.

We are looking for parent help to man the following food stalls
- Indian
- Mexican
- Dutch
- American
- NZ bbq (bacon butties)

At this stage the Home and School can make the food unless someone would like to volunteer to be in charge of preparing the food for a particular stall. If you can help with either preparing the food or manning a stall, please contact Rebecca Heffernan on 027 432 4056 or Victoria Forrest on 022 654 7500.

Parish Welfare Freezer
During the year some of our school families experience times of need; like the death of a close family member, severe illness/injury or hardship, and during these times, our Home and School give meals to these families. If you wish to donate a meal for this worthwhile cause which any family in the school can donate too, please bring the meals to the office.   Thank you to the families who have already donated meals.
If you know of a family who may need some assistance, please let Rebecca Heffernan know on 027 432 4056 or contact the office.
