Mary as Help of Christians is part of the oldest prayer addressed directly to Mary in the 3^rd century. Beneath your compassion, We take refuge, O Theotokos [God-bearer]: do not despise our petitions in time of trouble: but rescue us from dangers, only pure, only blessed one.

Prayer for Christian Unity 2020 Theme

 “They Showed Us Unusual Kindness” (cf. Acts 28:2). In 2020, we are being called to show unusual kindness towards one another.”

 During the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, Churches of all faiths are called together to form a vibrant and prayerful witness for Christian Unity by heeding Jesus’s prayer “that they all may be one.”

Make us worthy, Lord, to serve our fellow-men throughout the world who live and die in poverty and hunger. Give them through our hands, this day their daily bread, and by our understanding love, give peace and joy.
