2019 Enrolments
If you know of anyone who is turning 5 next year or wants to enrol their children and has not yet enrolled at our school, please contact the office.

Cricket 2019
Girls Smash - a free competition for girls from years 3-8.  No experience is necessary and come along and enjoy the music, lollies and heaps of prizes.  Teams are 6 aside but individual girls are welcome.  Now on Mondays from 25th February to 25th March starting at 4.00 pm at Centennial Park. Registrations are at the school office.

Superstar Cricket - a free and fast paced soft ball game for boys primary school cricketers.  Get 6 of your mates from years 3-6 along and join the fun.  Now on Monday's from 25th February to 25th March starting at 4.00 pm at Centennial Park.  Registrations are at the school office.

Disco and Yr 7 & 8 Social
Next Friday 30th November is the annual Yr 7 & 8 social and the theme is Hawaiian.  The Yr 8 students will arrive at the earlier time of 5.30 pm (time to be confirmed next week) and the Yr 7's arrive at 7.00 pm and it finishes at 9.00 pm.

Friday 7th December is our Home and School Disco for Yrs 1-6 only (sorry no pre-schoolers). The disco will start at 6.00 and go to 7.30 pm.  The theme is Christmas and it costs $3.00 for entry which gets you a drink, a bag of chips and a glow stick.  If you want to buy another glow stick it will cost an extra .50c and $1.00 for another drink. Parents should be warned that the main lights are off and there will be flashing lights and loud music.  We are asking that the children are to be dropped off and picked up at 7.30 pm as they will be adequately supervised by our Home and School parents

Football
Due to the terrible weather the AGM has been postponed until next Tuesday 27 November at 7pm AP Showgrounds. Please share this info with your club members. Thank you Football Waitaki.

Hockey
For all interested hockey players, Mark Knowles (retired Australian captain, Olympian and World Player) will be in Dunedin on 26-27th January for a two day coaching clinic. This early notice is to let you know about it and to get your registration sorted in time and to get a count of numbers. Home and School Mud Run
Keep this date free for next year as our Home and School are organising another Mud Run on Saturday 23rd March at the Oamaru Race course from 10.00 am to 1.30 pm.  This is a family orientated event and the run can go from 30 minutes to one and a half hours depending on your fitness level.

Library Books
All library books are to be returned by Friday 30th November for our annual stocktake. All books to be put in the box outside the office.

Multi Cultural Day - Tuesday 27th November
Our 2018 Multicultural day is fast approaching.  We would be delighted if you would come and share this day or part of this day with us.  Children are to come dressed in mufti which may be a national costume or could be a costume that reflects their ethnic background in some way.
The programme is as follows:

9.00 am - roll/prayers
9.20 am - rotation 1 begins
10.00 am - rotation 2 begins
10.40 am - fruit and read and break
11.00 am - rotation 3 begins
11.40 pm - rotation 4 begins
12.20 pm -children go back to classroom
12.30 pm - shared lunch for all
1.30 pm - children back to classroom and then go to the hall with their teachers
1.40 pm - concert begins

If time permits, whole school activity for 20 minutes either outside or in the hall weather permitting.

Students will return to their classes after the whole school activity finishes to pack up and final prayers.  Our heartfelt thanks to the parents who have prepared the students for the concert, to the parents and members of the parish community who are leading activities, to our Mandarin teacher Amy, the St Kevin's students who are helping/leading activities and to the parents who have contributed to the shared meal.

Every family is asked to bring a shared lunch and we rely on each family to contribute to the shared lunch.  Please drop your shared lunch on the tables in the hall when you come to school.  Please do not bring any food that contains nuts because we have children with nut allergies.

North Otago Athletics
At this stage, this event will be held on Monday and all competitors are to meet Mrs Brien at Centennial Park between 3.30 and 3.45 receive your name label with your events on it.  All children have been notified.  Please wear your PE uniform and sport shoes and bring a drink bottle. No spikes or starting blocks allowed.  We will let you know on Monday morning if this event moves to the postponement date on Thursday 29th November. Good luck to all competitors.

Onya Bike

Touch Rugby - the draw for next Tuesday 27th November was unavailable. It should come out on Monday after a decision from the weekend's weather.

Our 2019 school swimming lessons have been confirmed with the following dates.  We tried to get the junior lessons at the start of the term but due to other schools using the pool for their lessons in preparation for their swimming sports, our dates are at the end of the term.
