1. Principal's News Term 4, Week 3 2022

A Message from the Presiding Member from our Board of Trustees - Sharni Cunningham

Thank you to our amazing St Joseph school families who helped put on such a wonderful gathering last Friday night.  We had a great turn out, and it was lovely to see so many people together sharing food and swapping stories, something we have not been able to do for a long time.  There was lots of laughter, with parents and children all joining in on the games.

Our board would like to take this opportunity to also thank you for your feedback on the four questions where we asked you to identify what was important to you.  This information will help us with our work over the next few months as we put together our next three-year strategic plan, our annual plan, and as we look to the future and towards the exciting rebuild of our school.

And my final thank you is to Lorraine and our wonderful St Joseph staff.  We simply couldn't do the things we do without you all going above and beyond.  We do ask so much of you all, but your passion and love for St Joseph's is so appreciated by us all.

Presiding Member
St Joseph's Board of Trustees

Family Fun Evening

We loved spending Friday evening with so many of our families and seeing the children having fun and the adults having a chance to talk and catch up.  Thank you to everyone who contributed to our consultation.  This will help us to create a new vision statement and strategic plan for our school.  We will bring it back to you for more feedback when we have some draft statements.

Maori Achievement Collaborative Hui

I spent the first half of this week in Auckland attending the Maori Achievement Collaborative Hui with other principals from all over New Zealand.  Here is a snippet from this work:

Remember, we are closed on 14th and 15th November for professional development in structured literacy.

Ma te Atua e manaaki a aroha,

(God bless, and love)
Lorraine
